An Examination of London’s Burning.
Welcoming God’s presence to London 2012 ????
In August 2012, thousands of visiting athletes and sports enthusiasts will gather to celebrate the Olympic Games in East London! On Saturday 26th May 2012, 9,000 people will gather to worship and pray to release the fire of God’s love over London in preparation for the millions of expected visitors to the London games. Be one of them..
Be one of them.
The main theme ties in with the Ecumenical initiative ‘More Than Gold‘ stated as the largest global ecumenical effort in the world to date, [1] together with Catholics we are all evangelicals according to the book “Evangelical’s and Catholics together” by Charles Colson and Richard Heuhaus S. J. Pg 185:“It is nowadays useful to find “evangelical” used as a mute substantive that gains its voice only when it is coupled to another, and more clarifying, adjective. Accordingly, these days we have fewer and fewer plain garden variety evangelicals. What we have instead is a lot of fancy evangelical hybrids: radical evangelicals, liberals who are evangelical, charismatic evangelicals, Catholic evangelicals, evangelicals who are Catholic, evangelical liberationists, evangelical ecumenicalists, ecumenicalists who are evangelical, evangelical feminists, young evangelicals and orthodox evangelicals, the concept evangelical has become so presumptuous, has enjoyed so many bedpersons, has ben equally and unequally yoked so often that its self-concept has broadened into that of a commune.”
This is what unity is about, the idea that we can save ourselves from any confusion, but this thought is self-deception.
We read in Matthew 7 that we will recognise them by their fruits and what is the fruit of the ecumenical movement and London’s Burning?
What is London’s Burning?
“A strategic, vertical worship session creating space for God’s presence to shift the heavens and change the atmosphere of the city and surrounding region.”
(This is a false statement many Christians that attend these events believe; that the gospel is not effective and efficient in this present social climate, so it is reasoned that Jesus must be dressed up to make Him presentable and relevant to the world, that the Biblical idea of salvation from sin and eternal punishment should be de-emphasised.)
That which has been tried and tested over centuries of church history is being abandoned in favor of what is felt to be a more “culturally relevant” way of communicating the Gospel. Less and less of us preach the gospel and more and more of us seek to entertain people thus consigning the example of Christ, the apostles and countless generations of men and women of God to the garbage heap.
The world that throws all sorts of things at them such as what they see on television or read in the papers, magazines, the internet etc. Everything is about experimentalism, and the need to feel a “buzz”. Emotions are not wrong but if we thrive on them there is a danger point. This is what Jesus says:
This is what Jesus says Mar 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with [their] lips, but their heart is far from me.
They have a tendency to think that Christian worship revolves around musical forms and the emotions that this generates. Christianity needs to have “Street Cred”! This is what we call social gospel or transformational theology.
What is Burn 24-7?
“Founded by Sean Feucht, Burn 24/7 exists to fulfil the Biblical prophecy listed in Amos 9 and Acts 15 in which God declares In the last days, I will come and rebuild David’s tent, fix its broken places that the remnant may seek the Lord”.
Sean Feucht emphases spiritual experiences as influenced through John Crowder who also promotes Catholic Mystic Teresa of Avila. Much of his practices focus on Roman Catholic Mysticism, such as examples used by Thomas Merton and Thomas Keating a Catholic Monk who is one of the leading pioneers for contemplative spirituality. Contemplative Spirituality has its roots in New Age esoteric practices. Sean Faucht who practices the combining of biblical scriptures with pagan beliefs (called Syncretism) clearly twist scripture in his Syncretism of Amos 9 and Acts15.
Amos 9 is actually a warning of God’s judgment on Israel but also a lesson for the church in relation to Israel as God is showing us the lessons we need to learn as Christians not to fall into the same sins. With Israel’s destruction comes the rebuilding that God will do himself Acts 15:16, and Jesus himself has done already in John 2 , Amos 9 this is not about deliverance from the evil one, but calling Israel to repentance as the Church also must be humbled and repentant.
In the book, An Invitation To The Spiritual Journey by John P. Goursuch he writes quoting Thomas Keating Contemplative Prayer in Christian Tradition “P45 Does God only speak when we are good enough? Does God only speak only to Christians or only to Jews or only to Muslims or Hindus or Buddhists? Does God use a voice or speak only through miracles? I believe that God speaks to us in ways that are meaningful.”
What this is teaching is that God can be reached through many different practical religious applications and these techniques are now incorporated into Christian teachings. But this is contrary to what the bible says, the Word says in Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. KJV, Yet so-called Christians are still looking for ways of trying to reach God through different forms and disobeying the Word of God.
P53 these practices are explained “Listening happens when we make room for the Spirit to address us. Listening means opening ourselves up to One who will empower and transform and love us into more than we can imagine. The ultimate in listening is when we make room for God to take command of our lives and move us towards better things”
The Holy Spirit already speaks to us through His Word not in gnostic or mystical practices that this book promotes, and this is exactly what we see through events like London’s Burning.
As for the teaching of the tabernacle this has already been fulfilled as the tabernacle is rebuilt already in Jesus Christ; Lu. 1:32, 33, He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. KJV
WWe don’t need to feel God to act on our faith and do what Jesus commands us to do on a day-to-day basis. Worship is doing what is required of us, a daily sacrifice.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. KJV
What is David’s Tent?
“When David brought the Ark of God to Zion, Israel was turned into another nation as an open heaven environment rested on an entire region. As a result, the dream that God had for David’s generation was realised. David’s Tent is being restored today on a global scale and the influence of the Kingdom of God and the outpouring of God’s Spirit will flood the nations.”
THE RESTORATION OF DAVIDIC WARFARE/WORSHIP
“Tabernacle of David’ teaching is simply wrong and an example of illegitimate restoration teaching, there are pastoral and practical concerns. Rather than worship directed to God, simply to express praise, Davidic worship/warfare is practiced in order to produce a so-called spiritual effect. It hints at a kind of spiritual formula or recipe. The teaching that restored Davidic worship somehow allows or even attracts the physical manifestations of God’s presence seems to border on spiritual magic.
Finally, the identification of worship as purely musical is not biblical. The Apostle Paul teaches that worship touches all the areas of life. Presenting our bodies as living sacrifices, this constitutes our “spiritual worship” (Romans 12: 1). Worship styles and musical preferences should never be put forth as God’s unique and authorized form of worship. Cultural expressions of worship will always be different and not found in any Biblical teaching. The central point worship is the expression of the heart toward God.

How is a Burn different from a normal time of worship?
“Coming into a Burn atmosphere is coming before God with the heart of David- saying “all we’re here for is to see your face and lift You up”! We gather from across denominational lines and ethnic boundaries to build an altar where the fire of our burning love will not go out until the return of Jesus to the Earth. Burns are divided into 2-hour shifts led by worship teams ranging from one person leading prayer from a guitar or keyboard to full bands accompanied by prayer leaders with artists and dancers joining in. There is a set focus but not a set format. While well-known songs are sung, the creative, Presence-charged atmosphere in Burn gatherings creates space for the new Song of the Lord to flow out and prophetic intercession to come forth. This is the heart of BURN 24-7.”
This is not worship; praise is defined to express yourself to God in song and dance. People often get that mixed up with worship because a person has a heightened sense of spiritual experience doesn’t make it worship. This becomes an emotional experience not necessarily a spiritual one.
We do not read anywhere in scripture were David used practices that is displayed with in this event. David was a man after God’s own heart, he humbled himself, David did not use atmospheric or melodic music as to put others under a spiritual euphoric state, nor did he use these varied forms to place people under the power of suggestion.
David’s example of his use of music as recording in the Psalms was always to focus and lift up the name of God by meditating on the scriptures. He did not enter inter a transducers ecstatic state, altered perceptions or various forms of an altered state of consciousness, where people let loose and lose control and they say at that point they let the spirit take control, they then will de-emphasise on doctrine and more on experience.
This is not genuine faith nor believing in the scriptures, the Word of God should be all supplicant; experiential theology is leading people away from doctrinal purity, Jesus said clearly in 1 Timothy 4:16 “watch your life and Doctrine.”.
The Bible strongly emphasises that Doctrine matters where the people featured in these events have no clear regard for scripture.
Running from 14 July 2012 until the closing ceremony of the Olympics on 12 August, Burn 24-7 International (http://burn24-7.com) will lead 30 days of non-stop 24/7 worship and prayer at The Cornerstone, just north of the Olympic site.
“Presence-charged atmosphere” they say, well if we tie in this with the spirit that is behind the Olympics which we know its origins are pagan, they are combining the God of the bible in line with historic paganism, to make Christ appealing to the world “in the spirit of the Olympics through the More Than Gold Ministry” according to the Woman’s Missionary Union, they mistakenly believed that God works through worldly means to draw people to him. [2]
To the Greeks, the Olympics is a very a religious event that ties us all together to honour their historic Greek god Zeus, we also know officially that the Freemasons masonic publications online that the freemasons, [3] have well-known that through history Freemasons are heavily involved in the I.O.C and have some influence in the Olympics. There is not much to be desired for a Christian that they should encourage, support or be involved in anything that would muddy the waters and spiritually place us in a position that will lead us to unite with the emissaries of the anti-Christ and in conflict with biblical orthodox teaching and the Bible itself as it is more de-emphasised on scripture. This is not building the Church foundations that Jesus built but destroying it.
“Worship teams from the UK and abroad will lead two hour slots of continuous worship day and night, filling the atmosphere with praise to create a dwelling place for God’s presence”.
This is the worship of a mush god, this explanation has never been practiced in scripture, to be in the presence of God means we will fear him, the Bible does not say it is a warm romanticised presence.
The fear of the LORD [is} clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD [are} true [and] righteous altogether.More to be desired [are they] then gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: [and] in keeping of them [there is] great reward. Who can understand [his] errors? Cleanse thou me from secret [faults]. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous [sins]; let them not have dominion over me; then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Ps. 19:9-14
This is what actually happens even the people in the New Testament where terrified:
“And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it. 3 And his appearance was like lightning, and his garment as white as snow; 4 and the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men,” (Matt. 28:2-4).
Judas then, having received the Roman cohort, and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons. 4 Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, went forth, and said to them, ‘Whom do you seek?’ 5 They answered Him, ‘Jesus the Nazarene.’ He said to them, ‘I am He.’ And Judas also who was betraying Him, was standing with them. 6 When therefore He said to them, ‘I am He,’ they drew back, and fell to the ground,” (John 18:3-6).
“At midday, O King, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining all around me and those who were journeying with me. 14 And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew dialect, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads,”‘ (Acts 26:13-14).
They all fell in fear, collapsed it is exactly what the Bible states in Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
This is important because this is what caused them to cease from their sins.
If we are complacent in this world and the things of this world we lose sight of who God is and ultimately we stray away from the Lord, being led in to all sorts of varied practices that is not biblical and not of God.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 Jn. 4:1).
