WHAT DO I DO IF MY CHURCH IS NOT TEACHING FROM THE BIBLE?

falseWHAT DO I DO IF MY CHURCH IS NOT TEACHING FROM THE BIBLE?

If you suspect that your church is being led into false teaching the first thing to do is to make certain of your facts. It is important to really study what is being taught in the light of scripture in order to discern. You must pray and ask God for guidance.

Once that you have ascertained that your church is being led astray you must write down what evidence you may have and keep copies. The evidence must then be presented to the elders of your church, in a spirit of humility and reverence.

1 Tim 5:1 Rebuke not an elder, but entreat him as a father and the younger men as brethren;

It is important that you maintain yourself upright and strong in the Lord, it is not an easy thing to do to challenge one’s leaders, but it is important. They may listen to you!

Sadly some do not and can react angrily even accusing the one who seeks to express such concerns as being “judgmental”, “legalistic” and being “a tool for Satan”.

If your elders begin to react against you then you will have to prayerfully consider your future within that particular church or denomination.

Do not give in to any temptation to give up or turn bitter towards anyone. Remember the attitude that Christ teaches!
