How do we know we are being taught correct teaching?

falseHow do we know we are being taught correct teaching?

Joh 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

To be free we must know the truth, to know the truth we must follow Christ’s teachings.

It is never enough to simply know doctrine we need to know WHY we need to believe what we believe. Then we must live in accordance with these doctrines.

The Word of God is for LIVING, not simply for reading, learning or reciting.

Mt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Lu 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Jas 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Every doctrine that we follow must be entirely based upon the teachings and/or practice of Jesus Christ and His Apostles. Whatever is not based upon such does not have to be believed and/or practiced.

ALL correct teaching will point every one to Jesus Christ. He is the one from whom all things proceed, He is the way through whom all things must pass, and it is to Him that all things will return!

All things must point us to Jesus who gives all things.

All doctrine must not have blessings and rewards as their goal. To have the blessings we need the one that blesses.

All that we could seek can be found in Him, thus every sound doctrine will point us to him and glorify Him! Any doctrine that points us away from Christ and puts our eyes elsewhere- no matter where- cannot be held as sound in nature!
